Urban Baylehan

Urban Baylehan is a celebration of Project Iloilo’s one year anniversary as an online magazine on January 9, 2016.

The word baylehan means “a place where people dance”, a term commonly used in rural areas. Project Iloilo’s objectives aside from documenting culture is to spread and create culture, this event is an exciting way to achieve that.

Although baylehan normally involves public dancing, Project Iloilo’s version explores different corners of the Ilonggo culture. Local entrepreneurs will showcase their products. Homegrown visual artists will exhibit their selected masterpieces. Poets will bare their soul with their lines. And musicians will make the public dance.
